“Come spend a while with Me,” He said.
“O Lord, I cannot stay.
There’s far too much for me to do,
No time to spare today.”
“No time to spare for Me?” He said.
“I gave My life for thee:
My Father did not spare His son,
Have you no time for Me?”
“Come tell Me all your heart’s desire,
And I will tell you Mine.
I’ll satisfy your longing heart,
With My deep love, divine.”
“From My deep wells I’ll water give;
I’ll satisfy your thirst.
I’ll tell you all My secrets,
If you’ll but put Me first.”
In shame I bent my guilty head,
To think my Lord from me,
Should have to plead “some” of my time,
Who gave His “all” for me!
