The big question

 

 

Mummy ! what’s the sun made of –

Why doesn’t it ever go out ?

They say it’s kept shining for ages

What is its big secret about ?

Why doesn’t it ever get dimmer …..

It just disappears at night

Early morning it starts with a glimmer ,

But by mid – day it shines just as bright.

 

 

“ My child , our dear Father in Heaven

Keeps it shining for you and for me ;

His love is so great and so endless –

We need it so much , you see !

The birds wouldn’t wake in the morning

The trees and the flowers can’t grow ,

Then when it goes down in the evening ,

It is then that to bed we must go. ”

 

 

“ Mummy , why aren’t we more happy

If  all that you say is true ?

If it’s God that keeps the sun shining –

Can’t He look after me ,

and  you ? ”
